Europa announces 2019 turnover and growth plans

Europa Road has announced a new partnership with Gardner Distribution, strengthening its logistics operation by expanding its reach across the South West region.

Europa Worldwide Group has unveiled its ambitious vision for the future. Managing Director Andrew Baxter acquired the company in 2013 and since then the turnover has increased three-fold; for the year ended December 31, 2019 turnover increased by 13.9% year-on-year from £180m in 2018 reaching £205m and profit was recorded at £6m. Europa currently has 950 employees.

Each division has been successful, with the Europa Air & Sea segment increasing turnover from £15m to £35m since launching, with its Seafreight team shipping 10 times more containers compared to 2013, showing its rapid growth.

The Europa Warehouse segment demonstrated a turnover increase of £5m in 2014 to £18m in 2019, after winning a number of contracts, existing customer growth and the acquisition of new sites in Rushden and Ashford. Looking ahead the division aims to double its portfolio with the launch of its new £60m 715,000 sq ft logistics facility in the Midlands, set to be completed in June 2020.

Europa Road, where everything started for the company, reported a turnover increase of 13.0% year-on-year or £14m from £108m to £122m since 2018.

Baxter announced plans for future revenue and operations, commenting, “We have set our sights on aiming to hit a turnover of £1bn through a combination of acquisitions and organic growth. Across every division, we’ve seen fantastic results, and as we look ahead to 2020 and our vision for the future, we have set out plans to deliver exciting innovations, game-changing initiatives and outstanding efforts in every single area of the business. Our strategy continues to focus on long term profitability by improving our services to customers, whilst driving down costs and driving up quality.”
