Yusen Logistics will provide a carbon offset service that will achieve net-zero GHG emissions for all Less-than Container Load (LCL) shipments in ocean freight forwarding without additional costs from April 2022.

As many countries, regions and companies work hand in hand to achieve net-zero GHG emissions, the need for environmentally friendly transportation throughout the supply chain is growing day by day.

This service covers all LCL shipments arranged by Yusen Logistics Group including Transcontainer Limited. Yusen enables net-zero GHG emissions transportation by offsetting unavoidable GHG emissions with carbon credits which verified projects by independent organization. It purchases several qualified projects that contribute to climate changes and improve the local communities.

Yusen aims to achieve net-zero GHG emissions for all services by 2050 as the Group’s environmental target. Launching carbon offset service is key milestone for its further development green solutions to achieve net-zero GHG emissions. As a strategic partner to generate sustainable growth with its customers, and as a core company of the NYK Group whose growth strategy is ESG management, it aims to continue to promote initiatives based on a long-term sustainable perspective.
