Yamato revenues up 5.6% in 2019

Yamato Group has released its financial results for the FY2019 ended March 31, 2019. Revenues totalled ¥*1,625.3bn, up 5.6% year-on-year. Operating profit, including reconciliation, totalled ¥58,345m, up 63.5% year-on-year. This corresponds to a margin of 4.3%, up from 2.3% in the previous year.

Revenues in the Delivery segment (including inter-segment revenues) were up 7.1% year-on-year and totalled ¥1,361.4bn. Operating profit in this segment was up 503.6% to ¥40,787m.

In the BIZ Logistics segment, revenues were up 0.3% to ¥159,719m, while operating profit were down 52.8% to ¥3,329m.

Home Convenience revenues were down 21% to ¥46,027m, with the unit recording operating loss of ¥7,764m, due to operating expenses being higher than operating revenues.

In the e-Business division, revenues grew 2.6% to ¥67,746m, and operating profit totalled ¥8,740m, up 10% year-on-year.

Revenues in the Financial division totalled ¥82,823m, down 3.5% year-on-year while operating profit totalled ¥6,244m, down 21.1%.

The Autoworks division revenues were up 4.5% year-on-year and totalled ¥57,400m, and operating profit were also up 7.1% to ¥4,433m.

In the Other Division revenues totalled ¥61,002m, up 8.2% year-on-year and, operating profit were up 12.5% to ¥19,732m.

Yamato also reported its parcel delivery volume figures for 2019 in Japan. In its small-parcel delivery service TA-Q-BIN it recorded a drop of 1.8% to 1.8bn parcels.

In its TA-Q-BIN Compact it recorded a drop of 5.1% to 1.7bn, while Nekopos increased its volume by 72.2% to 135m.

In its posting service Kuroneko DM-Bin in Japan it recorded a drop of 17.3% to 1.5bn parcels.
