Wincanton has secured a pivotal role as Jet2.com’s exclusive transport partner for the efficient distribution of in-flight retail products to UK airports.
Wincanton will utilise specialised vehicles to transport merchandise from Jet2.com’s Retail Operations Centre, a sprawling 150,000 square-foot facility located in Cheshire. Notably, this centre represents a pioneering initiative in the UK aviation sector, setting new benchmarks in terms of customer-centric service, operational efficiency, and enhanced security.
The collaboration will also see Wincanton implement its advanced Control Tower technology to optimise Jet2.com’s network strategy. This technology will provide real-time visibility into stock locations, proof of delivery, and the judicious allocation of resources, all aimed at enhancing transport sustainability and elevating the customer experience.
