Rhenus Contract Logistics expands and renews Netherlands fleet

Rhenus Contract Logistics has placed an order for picking equipment, software, services and after-sales service in the Netherlands. Over 100 trucks, such as forklift trucks, pallet trucks, reach trucks and order pickers are included in the order.

The equipment has been delivered to two sites in Tilburg within a three-month timeframe. Rhenus states the decision was made as part of a continuous improvement programme at the Netherlands branch of Rhenus Contract Logistics. The firm’s analysis showed that modernising and expanding its fleet could lead to considerable savings in cost and productivity.

A business case led to the selection of the manufacturers Still and Toyota, with whom Rhenus Netherlands already has a long-standing business relationship. “In our ongoing drive for operational improvements, the purchase of this equipment will increase productivity, energy efficiency and employee satisfaction,” said Alphons van Erven, Senior Vice President of Rhenus Contract Logistics Netherlands.
