Recommerce Group Industries, a company specialising in the second life market for smartphones and other digital devices, has selected global logistics leader XPO Logistics to manage its outsourced supply chain operations in France.
XPO will handle the logistics across France of approximately 350,000 products annually on behalf of Recommerce Group. From its site in Tigery, XPO will store and prepare orders and load and ship reconditioned mobile phones and accessories to consumers, retail shops and warehouses.
In addition, XPO will provide value-added services for Recommerce, such as inventory sorting and management, testing, cleaning, reconditioning, packaging and reverse logistics. XPO said that it has developed a technology solution tailored for Recommerce’s needs for the management of returns and the sustainable disposal of product waste.
Patrick Richard, COO for Recommerce in France, said, “XPO’s experience with electronic devices and their investments in logistics technology will allow us to track our flow of goods from receipt to reconditioning or recycling.”
