Poste Italiane announces new distribution centre

Poste Italiane has announced the opening of a new distribution centre in Cazzago Brabbia in the Province of Varese, Italy. The new centre alongside the recent inauguration of the Bologna hub is part of Poste Italiane’s €40m investment plan into its logistics network, a further 35 sites will be launched as part of its ‘Deliver 2022’ business plan.

The new centre supports Post Italiane’s growth strategy which is focused on improving its logistics services. The company is launching a new “Joint Delivery” model which has extended the delivery time slots and will offer weekend deliveries.

CEO and General Manager Matteo Del Fante said: “This new Distribution Centre is in line with our plans for strategic growth as outlined by the Delivery 2022 business plan. This new centre is part of an investment with an additional 35 sites to achieve our ‘Joint Delivery’ model which will be available to customers across the entire Italian territory. The centre builds upon the transformation of our core business and will exploit the growth of e-commerce.”

The new 2,400 sq m centre will handle approximately 20,000 pieces daily that will be delivered to the 23 municipalities in the Province of Varese.
