NACEX.PHARMA extends its services to thermolabile medicines

NACEX has obtained the TAPA FSR – Level “A” goods security certification for its Cosalada Hub, passing the external audit by SGC.

NACEX, Logista’s express parcel and documentation delivery company, has extended its services to thermolabile medicines. The added-value services aimed at the pharmaceutical and para-pharmaceutical sector by means of a new premium delivery, guarantee that the temperature is kept at 2ºC-8ºC, according to Logista.

This service is an addition to the one currently offered by NACEX.pharma 15ºC-25ºC, and aims to provide a response to the needs of those clients that have a strict requirement to maintain the temperature for thermolabile products (2ºC-8ºC): sensitive medicines (vaccines, cytostatic agents, biological products), expensive products, and sensitive and special operations such as clinical trials, home deliveries and samples.

According to Logista, NACEX.pharma 2ºC-8ºC allows the delivery to be made by means of passive cooling, with the use of reusable isothermal packaging that guarantees the temperature is kept between 2ºC and 8ºC, during the whole journey to the consignee. The service covers the mainland, islands, and Ceuta-Melilla.

Each of the shipments made using the isothermal packaging contain probes that are calibrated on an annual basis and enable continuous, online, and on-time temperature monitoring, aiming to ensure that the GDPs (Good Distribution Practices) main requirement for the Distribution of Medicines for Human Use is complied with, which is to be able to demonstrate the temperature of a shipment clearly at all times.

Logista stated, the packaging has been designed with a single configuration for both summer and winter and has been validated in accordance with the sector’s requirements, subjected to temperature profiles that are typical of the climate on the mainland and islands. In addition, the environmental impact of each shipment is reportedly reduced, due to the fact that the packaging is reusable.

NACEX.pharma 2ºC–8ºC is said to be providing the possibility of optimising the sector’s operational processes, by positioning the already prepared containers (correct temperature and configuration) at origin (CRO, hospital and laboratory warehouses, etc.) for the picking package to be inducted and handed over to the driver for shipment.

When the shipment reaches its destination, and the consignee has checked its temperature by means of the driver’s mobile app, delivery of the order is made and the container is returned in order to be checked and prepared for use again.
