Logwin sells retail network to Deußen Group

International logistics Group Logwin has sold its German retail network to Last Mile Optimizer GmbH, a company of the Deußen Logistics Group, with effect from 16 March 2023.

Logwin’s retail network goes back to Deutsche Kleiderspedition DKS, which was founded 60 years ago by Johann Birkart in Aschaffenburg to ship hanging garments. Today, around 24 million hanging garments are transported annually for 900 customers via the retail network to the branches of German retailers. Further to that, the network handles 2.3m cartons, 250,000 pallets, 370,000 bicycles and 140,000 trolleys with returnable containers. Well-known fashion brands and garment retailers, large perfumery chains as well as decoration and furnishing specialists rely on the experience and service of the retail network. The retail network supplies a total of 20,000 points of sale for its customers.

As part of the retail network, the Deußen Group takes over the network locations in Melle, Langenfeld, Aschaffenburg, Renningen and Kassel with around 200 employees. The retail network achieved a turnover of around €70m in 2022. In addition to its own branches, a large number of area freight forwarders and partner companies are active in the Europe-wide distribution of goods.

“We are pleased to further expand our forwarding activities with Logwin’s retail network and warmly welcome the new employees to the Deußen Group,” explains Ronny Deußen, Owner and Managing Director of Last Mile Optimizer GmbH, which was newly founded for the purchase and is headquartered in Cologne. “The activities of the retail network are an excellent complement to our previous activities in the field of retail distribution. We are pleased to be able to continue the long-standing relationships with renowned customers.”
