Kuehne+Nagel will operate the healthcare hub for IDA Foundation, a social enterprise based in Amsterdam. This hub, situated at Kuehne+Nagel’s facility in Dubai South, will function as a centralised centre for kitting and global health logistics across the Middle East and Africa region. The majority of the GxP-compliant warehousing space, exceeding 60%, is specifically designated for handling healthcare products, showcasing the organisation’s expertise in managing sensitive goods requiring precise temperature control.

In the UAE, Kuehne+Nagel will assist IDA Foundation with various aspects, such as product handling, encompassing temperature-controlled storage, aggregation, and local and international distribution. A dedicated pharmacist will ensure compliance with stringent regulations and manage potential risks.

Distinguished guests at the recent ribbon-cutting ceremony included local and international organisations pivotal in this achievement and the advancement of healthcare logistics in the UAE: International Humanitarian City, Dubai South, and the World Health Organization.

“Expanding our UAE hub strategically places IDA Foundation to promptly and reliably supply essential health goods to those in need, focusing on the Middle East and Africa,” remarks Wendy Eggen, CEO of IDA Foundation. “We selected Kuehne+Nagel due to their unwavering reliability, top-notch warehousing services, sustainability commitment, and an array of complementary services enabling agile responses.”

The partnership between Kuehne+Nagel and IDA Foundation extends a decade-long collaboration, with Kuehne+Nagel Emergency and Relief Logistics in Copenhagen being a long-term partner in humanitarian logistics, distributing health products worldwide.

“This partnership underscores our joint commitment to ensuring every patient receives healthcare products in optimal condition and on time, while also delivering sustainable logistics solutions,” notes Lee I’Ons, President of the Middle East and Africa at Kuehne+Nagel. “Our expertise in handling healthcare products, consistent reliability, and our team’s exceptional dedication were instrumental in this achievement.”
