Green power used at KWE’s Misato warehouse

KWE

Kintetsu World Express, has made reducing total CO2 emissions one of its priorities for their sustainability agenda. The company identifies specific targets and performance goals for Scope 1 & 2 emissions (direct emissions) followed by Scope 3 (indirect emissions) by partner carriers and vendors.

As part of its decarbonization efforts, it is introducing renewable energy sources to its facilities. In September 2021, working in partnership with GREENa, green energy distributor, it received Green Power Certificate – aiming to translate Environmental Added Values of electricity generated from renewable sources and reduction of CO2 emissions – for up to 1,200,000 kWh of electric power, compliant to the requisites of GREEN Power Certification System that trades in environmentally value-added green energy.

In 2003, KWE’s Misato Green Warehouse (GWH) obtained ISO 14001 certification, an internationally recognized Environmental Management System (EMS) and organizational framework. GWH also received LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Certification developed and operated by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) in 2016. As part of its sustainability efforts, GWH management participates in EMS meetings, provides detailed site reports, and organizes community cleanups as part of its corporate social responsibility.

The KWE Group aims to continue to involve in environmental initiatives.
