Goodman to build smart warehouse for SEUR Logística outside Madrid

Goodman Group has announced that its global operations have achieved carbon neutrality, four years ahead of its original 2025 target.

SEUR Logística currently carries out its logistic operations from a 15,000 sq m facility in Getafe and its 12,000 sq m facility in Alcalá de Henares. It plans to move all its operations to a new 36,000 sq m facility in Illescas.

Illescas has established itself in the last 12 months as a focal point for logistics activity following the arrival of leading companies from a range of industries.

Carlos Cavero, Director of SEUR Logística said, “By unifying our operations at a strategic location such as Illescas, we can consolidate our logistics operation at a single location, optimising the management of the warehouse and the transport routes”.

Construction of the new facility will be done by Goodman and it will begin in March 2019. It is scheduled to be operational by early 2020 and has been designed to achieve the BREEAM Very Good certification.

The smart and sustainable warehouse will be built in accordance with both companies’ environmental and sustainable policies. It will be built with elements to reduce energy consumption, include charging ports for SEUR’s growing electric vehicle fleet, and 1,600 sq m dedicated to offices and staff amenities.
