Goodman has started of an 8,000 sq m logistics facility in Pioltello, Italy, for Amazon started at the end of February and is due for completion in September 2021.
Pioltello Logistics Centre forms part of Goodman’s global strategy to meet the increasing demand for logistics space with easy access to large consumer markets. The prime location will enable deliveries to 2.5m people in a 30-minute driving time.
Sustainability has been key in planning this Class A facility. The property will include features such as 256 e-charging stations for cars, trucks and vans to facilitate and encourage green deliveries. Rooftop solar PV will produce 160 kWp which will be used to offset the building’s power needs. This amounts to the equivalent of planting almost 9,500 trees, which in a one-year life cycle absorb 94,500 kg of CO2.

The project is also an excellent example of our commitment to sustainability and achieving carbon neutrality. Thanks to the co-operation with the municipality of Pioltello and the local authorities, almost six hectares of land will be transferred to the municipality for the development of a new sporting centre.”
