GLP has announced the development of a new 37,000 sq m logistics centre in Upper Silesia, Lędziny, Poland.
The 37,000 sq m unit marks the first phase of development and is part of a scheme to develop over 110,000 sq m of warehouse space in Ledziny, each with direct access to the S1 Expressway. The development comes six months since GLP launched its operations in Central Europe and will be one of the most advanced projects of its kind in Poland, according to GLP.
GLP has already leased part of the space in the unit that is due to complete in mid-2021.
The buildings in Lędziny will be developed in line with the GLP Design Standard, with a clear height of 12 metres and increased floor loading capacity (7.5t/sq m). They will benefit from sustainability features such as solar-ready rooftops, smart metering systems allowing customers to control utility consumption in real-time, and electric vehicle charging stations. GLP also stated in a press release that it will receive a BREAAM “Very Good” certification.
