GLP acquires site for a 24,000 sq m warehouse in Colleferro

GLP announced that it has acquired a site in the municipality of Colleferro, a small town of the Metropolitan City of Rome, to develop a Grade A warehouse facility with a total leasable area of 24,000 sq m.

The acquisition of this plot of land represents a unique opportunity, located in a key logistics area within the Roman market. GLP believes this latest development will strengthen GLP presence in the region, following the acquisition of a portfolio of properties located in Colleferro, Anagni and Santa Palomba in 2021. The area benefits from road links, with direct access to the A1 motorway, in addition strong air and water connections, given its proximity to the port of Civitavecchia and Italy’s busiest airport, Rome Fiumicino, along with Ciampino airport.

Construction of the site is scheduled to begin in Q3 2022. The structure will be built according to the highest quality and ESG standards, and the warehouse will be certified BREEAM Very Good.

Roberto Piterà, Country Director of GLP Italy, commented: “This acquisition increases our footprint across central and northern Italy, and indicates GLP conviction in the capital city – one of the most dynamic institutional markets for Italian logistics, located on the country’s main axis. Demand for modern, quality logistics spaces continues to grow, and new buildings in well-connected areas can be difficult to find – this land will allow us to develop a modern logistics asset with the highest ESG standards, making it available to our customers less than 10 months from the start of construction.”
