Getlink revenues break €1bn mark

Getlink’s turnover broke €1bn in 2017 after growth of 4%. Its EBITDA was 6% higher at €526m and its bottom line, net consolidated profit for the year was €113m, down 40% year-over-year.

The number of truck shuttles was virtually unchanged year-over-year at 1.64m. Reportedly, traffic was affected by the decrease in fresh fruit and vegetable traffic due to the exceptionally bad weather conditions in southern Europe at the beginning of 2017 and in November by a reduction in capacity due to a temporary increase in maintenance operations. Revenue from shuttle services wsa 3% higher.

There was a 17% increase in tonnage from train operators’ rail freight services, as well as a 12% increase in the number of trains, following the trend that started towards the end of 2016.

Europorte, covering its entire rail freight transport logistics chain in France, increased revenue by 2% to €118m, whilst making EBITDA of €6m, up from €0m in 2016.
