Fiege develops new logistics centre for Döllken Profiles

FIEGE

Fiege has started developing a new logistics centre for Döllken Profiles, a manufacturer of skirting boards of hardwearing plastics. The 10,000 sq m warehouses located in Bönen in Westphalia, Germany, in immediate proximity to Döllken Profiles’ production site, are to be completed by the end of 2020. Fiege Real Estate is devising the new logistics property together with Döllken Profiles – Fiege is even in charge of planning the company’s intra-logistics.

“Centralising supply chain operations means that transportation activities will no longer be needed on a significant scale while making a positive contribution to protecting the environment. Also, it allows us to respond faster and more flexibly to our clients’ wishes”, said Hartwig Schwab, CEO of Döllken Profiles GmbH.

Following the construction of the new warehouse, Döllken Profiles will also expand the production areas in Bönen by around 4,000 sq m to create additional capacities for the manufacture of skirtings, technical profiles and LED strips. At €11m, this expansion is Döllken Profiles’ biggest investment project to date.

As the project controller, Fiege planned the new logistics property, obtained the necessary authorisations, devised a fire safety concept and is now coordinating the cooperation of the various trades. The construction company Goldbeck as the general contractor and the engineering firm Klußmann are partners involved in the project.
