FIEGE announces new logistics property in Zaandam

Fiege opens new

FIEGE has announced it is building a new 43,000 sq m logistics hub in Zaandam, North of Amsterdam. The company aims to have completed the warehouse by August 2022, with excavations starting at the end of October 2021.

The facility’s anchor tenant, FIEGE’s Dutch subsidiary Fiege B.V., will use the location to consolidate a large part of its clients’ business and take up the office space for its new head office. Both the general contractor, Goldbeck Nederland B.V. and Clarion Partners Europe, an investment company, are project partners.

The additional new building has four warehouse sections and will be built in the immediate vicinity of FIEGE’s current branch in Zaandam which will remain in operation for future use.

The company stated that the nearby container terminals of the Port of Amsterdam as well as Schiphol airport make this location an ideal hub in one of Europe’s strongest economic regions. Managing Director of FIEGE Peter van Dop commented: “We are thrilled to develop our cutting-edge logistics centre by drawing on the expertise and support from our FIEGE Real Estate team. Construction is progressing precisely according to schedule”.

The property will be built and certified according to the BREEAM Excellent sustainability standard. The building will be infused with natural light and, in a bid to advance electric mobility, will feature multiple EV charging points.
