FedEx Express Mexico has announced the expansion of its bonded facility at Toluca International Airport, State of Mexico, as part of its plans of growth and infrastructure consolidation. The facility has been expanded by more than 31,000 sq m, with the intention that it will allow FedEx Express Mexico to double its capacity and enhance its commercial offer, supported by the operational infrastructure that the company already has, such as the Logistics Centre and its National Hub, one of the largest in Latin America.

According to FedEx, 32% of its workforce is concentrated in the State of Mexico and the bonded facility at the Toluca International Airport processes 27% of the international volume of shipments from Mexico. Currently, the State of Mexico occupies the first place in the country for highest number of companies. At the same time, it has established itself as the second most contributing economy by providing around 8.9% of the GDP.

“Today’s announcement reinforces our commitment to boost the local economy through multiple projects. We have worked to boost economic and social growth in Mexico for 30 years, as evidenced by our ‘25 years and 25 solutions’ campaign, the construction of a community centre in the State of Mexico, as well as programmes to encourage local entrepreneurs“, said Jorge Torres, President of FedEx Express Mexico.
