Dr. Tobias Burger, an experienced logistics strategist, now assumes the leadership role with a comprehensive understanding of the intricate challenges facing the global logistics markets.
In his new role, COO Air & Sea Logistics, Dr. Burger’s primary objective is to foster DACHSER’s expansion in global markets. Burkhard Eling, CEO of DACHSER, emphasizes the anticipated growth from business in Asia and the Americas. The company aims to provide customers with a comprehensive global groupage solution by integrating intercontinental transport with their efficient European overland transport network. This ambitious Global Groupage offering, supported by an integrated network with robust contract logistics capabilities, necessitates a formidable air and sea freight organization with a worldwide presence.
Dr. Burger, holding a doctorate in business administration, started his career as a strategy consultant at Siemens Management Consulting and joined DACHSER in 2009. His journey within the company includes roles in controlling and strategy development, with subsequent responsibilities in Corporate Governance. Overseeing the strategic development of the global air and sea freight network, he was appointed Deputy Director of Air & Sea Logistics in 2019.
