DPD Netherlands opens new distribution centre in Goes

GeoPost acquires Aramex

DPD Netherlands is opening a new distribution centre in Livingstoneweg in Goes. With this new distribution centre, DPD is further expanding its capacity in the Netherlands so that it can continue to facilitate growth. Delivery times and CO2 emissions from parcel deliveries in Zeeland are expected to be noticeably reduced. The new site has a total floor area of 3,500 sq m and a sorting machine more than 250 m long. The new centre will also provide 50 additional jobs.

In line with its sustainability policy, DPD Netherlands has chosen to fully renovate the existing commercial building in Goes rather than build a new one. The renovation work also involves installing solar panels over the entire roof.

Eric Dietz, CEO DPD Netherlands, commented: “Following the opening of the Maastricht depot two years ago, it’s now the turn of the Goes depot. By opening new depots, we continue to expand our capacity so that we can respond to customer and market demand and process peak volumes fast. We are also looking at how we can plan our routes more efficiently and substantially reduce our CO2 emissions. One way we are doing this is by using electric vehicles.”
