DP World container volumes increase 9.4% in 2021

DP World handled 77.9m TEUs in gross volume* across its container terminals in 2021, with gross container volumes increasing by 9.4% year-on-year on a reported basis. Consolidated volume** grew by 8.8% to 45.4m TEUs. 2021 volume growth was said to be broad-based, with all regions being growth drivers.

Asia Pacific & India saw a 12.7% year-on-year increase in gross volumes, rising to 34.6m TEUs in 2021. Consolidated volume grew 16.7% to 10.2m TEUs.

Europe, Middle East, and Africa saw a 5.7% year-on-year increase in gross volumes, rising to 32.1m TEUs in 2021. Consolidated volume grew 5.0% to 24.3m TEUs. Jebel Ali (UAE) saw a 1.9% growth in gross volume to 13.7m.

Americas & Australia saw a 10.5% year-on-year increase in gross volumes, rising to 11.2m TEUs in 2021. Consolidated volume grew 10.8% to 10.8m TEUs.
