DB Schenker has opened a new logistics centre at The GVZ Augsburg, a logistics park in the Augsburg/Bavarian Swabia region of Germany, between Ulm and Munich. It is a busy hub for both national and international freight traffic.
The new logistics hall has a total storage area of 38,000 sq m. Schenker now has a commercial space for contract logistics of 78,000 sq m at the location. It manages the warehousing for the robot manufacturer KUKA and the MediaShop Group, at the site. In the Augsburg region, Schenker operates a wide variety of logistical businesses at a total of approximately 140,000 sq m at several locations.
