DB Schenker announced that, together with Jinbei Automotive, it is building DB Schenker’s second largest logistics centre in China. The construction of the facility is part of DB Schenker and Jinbei Automotive’s logistics joint venture, Schenker Logistics Jinbei (SJL).
The facility in Shenyang will consist of two warehouses with a total area of over 42,000 sq m. Operations at the location are expected to commence in November 2016.
“The groundbreaking ceremony is a major step forward magnifying our footprint in the world’s largest automotive market,” said Jochen Thewes, Global Chief Executive Officer, Schenker AG.
SJL was formed in February 2015 to offer logistics services in the city of Shenyang. The joint venture provides a range of logistics services including customized logistics solutions, supply chain management, pick and pack, just in time/ sequence inventory, inventory management, quality control, cross docking and vendor managed inventory.
