Culina Group acquires Eddie Stobart owner GreenWhiteStar Acquisitions

Culina Group has announced it has taken over GreenWhiteStar Acquisitions in an undisclosed agreement. GreenWhiteStar Acquisitions is comprised of Eddie Stobart, Eddie Stobart Europe, iForce, The Pallet Network, and The Logistics People. GreenWhiteStar had an overall turnover of over £2.2bn last year and has a combined workforce of 22,000 staff, 20m sq ft of warehousing space and a fleet of over 5,500 vehicles.

The acquisition means the Culina Group now has over one hundred distribution centres in the UK with the addition of over forty facilities operated by GreenWhiteStar Acquisitions. Culina Group is now the largest privately owned logistics provider in the UK and a business that is undisputed in terms of service.

This is an excellent fit which is going to be fantastic for both our staff and for our clients, whilst making Culina Group the largest FMCG logistics provider in the UK”, said Thomas van Mourik, Culina Group CEO.

William Stobart, Executive Chairman of GreenWhiteStar Acquisitions, will take a seat on the Culina Group board for the long term as Deputy Group CEO. Eddie Stobart state that the primary aim of this move is to ensure that all current and prospective customers continue to benefit from market-leading levels of service.
