Bolloré opens a new office in Hainan

Bolloré Logistics

Bolloré Logistics China recently opened a new branch office in Haikou, Hainan Province, to support its customers and business partners’ supply chains, as tourism and travel retail/duty free sales markets continue to grow since the pandemic. Offering end-to-end customised transportation and logistics services, the Hainan office is well-placed to serve the needs of its customers and local market.

In June 2020, the Chinese authorities released a plan for the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP), with the goal of building it into a globally influential high-level free trade port by the middle of the century. Despite Hainan FTP being on track to become the largest duty-free and travel retail market in the world, there are several challenges that come with the fast-growing business there.

A major challenge would be the supply chain being unable to cope with the huge surge in demand. Out of stock situations are bad for business and overall consumer perception, on top of the many challenges already associated with the duty free and travel retail industry. Furthermore, in recent months China has struggled with the impact of its continued Covid-related lockdowns.

Bolloré Logistics China aims to help its customers cope with the challenges of route optimisation, cargo integrity, regulatory and compliance, cost optimisation, transport route visibility and traceability. It takes an end-to-end approach, with customers being assured that it can manage their supply chains, propose innovative solutions, and optimise costs reliably.

For customers in sectors such as perfumes and cosmetics, fashion and accessories, watches and jewelleries and non-merchandise, it has a global network of warehouses and supply chain experts to help improve supply chain performance.

The strategic location of the new branch office in Hainan ensures that Bolloré Logistics can connect clients to inbound and outbound business opportunities and tap into consumer market in the province as well as in the Greater China region. The Hainan office will also serve as a base for developing new business opportunities and innovations.
