Bolloré Logistics reports growth in financial results for H1 2018

Bolloré Transport & Logistics and supply chain services company Czarnikow are collaborating to support Bolloré’s sustainable development in East Africa through the VIVE Sustainable Supply Programme.

Bolloré Logistics has reported revenue growth of 54% for H1 2018 compared with the first half of 2017. At constant scope and exchange rates, revenue for first half of 2018 stood at €10,869m, up 7% compared to the prior year period. The adjustments were due to changes in consolidation scope, as a result of the consolidation of Vivendi, and -€424m in foreign exchange impacts.

The Transportation and Logistics operations posted revenue growth of 11% year-on-year (YoY), totalling €2,947m for H1 2018. The improved performance in the business segment was on the back of growth in freight forwarding and logistics and also benefited from the overall increase in air and sea volumes handled. A sharp growth in port terminals for Bolloré Africa Logistics also contributed towards the rise in revenue. This led to an improvement in operating income which increased by 4% YoY to reach a total of €255m for the first half of 2018.

Bolloré’s Oil Logistics business increased its revenue by 20% YoY, totalling €1,260m, which was mainly attributable to higher oil product prices. On the back of positive inventory effects, operating income totalled €11m which represented an increase of 17% in comparison to the prior year period.

The group’s operating income climbed to €544m, an increase of 33% compared with first half 2017 whilst EBITDA was up 58% at €1,195m.
