BLG Logistics has become a strategic logistics partner for Fischerwerke, a multinational manufacturer of fastening products for the construction and DIY industry. It has taken over handling requirements for the Fischer System-Tec product range as well as for the Fischer standard fixings range. Following the signing of the contract in May 2019, the first delivery started from the logistics centre in Düsseldorf on August 5, 2019.
“At the beginning of this year we started our joint planning, including drawing up a special packing concept for certain products. The early start of the close cooperation with our new customer Fischer ensures we can implement a customised, easy logistics solution,” said Christian Dieckhöfer, Executive Director of BLG Industrielogistik.
From the LZ Düsseldorf distribution warehouse, Fischerwerke takes up 5,000 sq m of the total area of 30,000 sq m. From this facility, both national and international end customers and companies are supplied with rail systems, console sets, assembly fittings, and of course plugs.
Included in the logistics services provided by BLG are incoming goods handling, consolidation, quality assurance, master data logging, returns management, storage, picking, preparation for shipping, and goods dispatch.
