Aldi extends iForce partnership

Aldi has announced it is extending its relationship with iForce, an Eddie Stobart company, for the future growth of its online platform for non-food products.

iForce were chosen by Aldi in 2015 to support the launch of its e-commerce platform for non-food Special buys and wine products. The extension of the partnership will mean that iForce can look at developing Aldi’s online proposition to grow its market share across the UK.

Operating out of the Corby campus sites in Kettering, iForce will continue to provide Aldi with iForce Gateway the fulfilment service powered by its proprietary software, SMART. SMART was originally implemented to maximise the efficiency of its fulfilment model ahead of the online launch back in 2015.

Following a successful launch, the range and scope of Aldi’s online operation has continued to expand and iForce’s team of supply chain experts have helped ensure the introductions of spirits, a significantly expanded garden range and a number of fast moving consumer goods.

David Barter, Managing Director of IT at Aldi, said: “Our eCommerce platform is a key part of our business, making our award-winning quality wine and Special buys available to as many people as possible. Using iForce’s expertise in fulfilment means we have now been able to expand our online offering, and we look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.”
