Purolator has launched Purolator QuickShip, the first service in Canada that gives businesses the opportunity to deliver products to consumers 24/7 with same-day or next-day delivery service.
QuickShip will be available in four of Canada largest metropolitan areas, i.e. Greater Toronto Area, Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver, and will be added to the company’s guaranteed, time-definite shipping options, allowing customers to choose the speed of service they need and ensure that they receive their packages in the expected timeframe.
“In the next five years, we anticipate that 50% of the delivery market in Canada will be direct-to-home, with consumers expecting deliveries at times that are convenient for them,” said John Ferguson, President and CEO, Purolator. “QuickShip is the first and only service available in Canada that provides businesses the ability to fulfil online orders the same day or the next day with a guaranteed delivery time. It’s a premium service that meet consumers’ needs for choice, convenience and flexibility.”
QuickShip is part of the company’s five-year $1bn growth and innovation investment plan, which is focused on accelerating customers’ digital experiences and driving growth for businesses of all sizes. According to Purolator’s 2018 annual survey, 86% of Canadian adults shop online, and most of them shop between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., without a specific preferred day. Only 20% of customers said that they were “extremely satisfied” with the time it takes to receive their package. Retailers said that “speed of delivery” was cited as a top consideration for their online customers, and they agreed that smarter and more efficient shipping practice will contribute to a better customer experience.
