trans-o-flex invests in trailers for shipments of pharmaceuticals

Trans-o-flex has started construction for a new logistics centre in Hessen and is intended to increase efficiency of the Express and ThermoMed networks.

trans-o-flex has ordered 81 certified pharma standard trailers to match the rising demand for pharmaceuticals shipments. The Krone Cool Liner Pharma trailers were part of a multi-million-euro investment from trans-o-flex and the first of these is already in use today.

The trailers feature numerous data loggers at precisely calculated points of the vehicle body to serve to continuously monitor and document the temperature and temperature distribution inside. They feature double protection during the transmission of the temperature data. In addition to temperature data being fed via radio transmission, the temperature control unit is connected to a printer. This means temperature is recorded during the entire transport, thus preventing any gaps due to interference with radio transmission.

The pharma standard was certified by specialist provider Pharmaserv. In addition, the trailers have been awarded the international EIPL certificate issued by the European Institute for Pharma Logistics.
