Hellmann Worldwide Logistics reports air freight volume growth of 11.6% in 2017

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has announced that it achieved revenues of over €3.2bn in 2017, up by 7% year-on-year.

This came on the back of air and road freight volumes increasing by 11.6% to 557,000 tonnes and 3.5% to 17m consignments respectively. Hellmann did not disclose by how much sea freight volumes had increased, only that the year was characterised by industry volatility.

As for the Contract Logistics division, Hellmann stated that it “also developed positively with an increase in gross profit of around 8%.”

Hellmann’s earnings before taxes (EBT) amounted to €22.2m, an increase of 37%. Hellmann asserted that the improvement was due to “the stringent restructuring of recent years”.

It stated that the formation of three separate business units in Germany and the change of legal form to an SE & Co. KG represented key milestones that were successfully implemented last year.
