Ekol’s Romanian expansion plans continue


Ekol Logistics has signed a 5 years lease for a new facility located on the outskirts of Bucharest, Romania.  

From December 2017, Ekol Romania will move into the brand new 6,000 sq m facility with offices and warehouse space within CTPark Bucharest. Ekol now operates two warehouses in the same logistics park and one warehouse in Timisoara, covering a total area of 14,000 sq m.

The new warehouse has 9 loading docks, 2 drive-in ramps, a capacity of 10,000 EUR-pallets as storage and a height of 12 m. Its software was developed by Ekol’s R&D team – Quadro, WMS. With the new facility, Ekol Romania will provide logistics solutions for the automotive, white and brown goods, FMCG, Retail and e-commerce sectors.

Furthermore, in 2018, the company plans to develop the Ekol Group’s intermodal network by opening a RO-RO connection between Yalova Port, İstanbul and Constanta Port, in Romania. Ekol will also open operational offices in Constanta Port and expects to open a new branch in Cluj. Ekol says its Romanian turnover for 2017 is expected to reach €15m.
