Militzer & Munch and Andreas Schmid Logistik form joint venture

Militzer & Munch and Andreas Schmid Logistik have founded a joint venture to facilitate international road transports from Europe to Iran and the Maghreb region.

More specifically, several departures per week will be made from Gersthofen in Germany to Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Iran.

The new entity will operate under the name of MMAS Eurasia Logistics.

Dr. Lothar Thoma, CEO M&M Militzer & Munch International Holding AG, commented: “The joint venture with Andreas Schmid Logistik allows us to offer our customers additional transport capacities from Germany to Iran and the Maghreb region.

“It complements our long standing collaboration with CargoLine, the groupage cooperation. We use the CargoLine network especially for international transports from and to Germany and Western Europe.”

In Iran, Militzer & Munch already offers nationwide distribution. Through its local sister company, the PTB Group, both M&M and Andreas Schmid Logistik will have access to 15 depots and extensive warehousing space, in Bandar Abbas and elsewhere.

M&M’s CEO added: “Especially for the automotive and textile industries, the Maghreb is a major trade partner.

“The joint venture gives us the optimal position to meet the increasing demand with a comprehensive range of services. We offer door-to-door transport solutions to Iran and the Maghreb states including customs clearance and warehousing from a single source.”
