DHL Freight Invests In New Road Freight Terminal in Marseille

DHL Freight has announced the opening of new logistics terminal in Marseille. The new terminal marks an important expansion of DHL Freight’s road logistics network in Southern France and will be an key strategic gateway to and from Tunisia.

The new terminal boasts a cross-deck area of 3,204m2 with 35 gates, on a total space of 3,632m2. The increased logistics capacities allow for quicker and more efficient road transportation, thereby increasing the reliability of shipments and customer satisfaction. For example, the terminal will offer the consolidation and de-consolidation of Less-than-Truckload shipments, which the DHL network will then distribute customers in the European market. Connecting the continents of Europe and Africa, the terminal in Marseille will also use its capacities to become an important gateway to and from Tunisia.

Focused on sustainable operations and compliance with the climate energy bill, DHL Freight ensured that solar panels would cover at least 30% of the roof surface. In addition, DHL Freight recently introduced the GoGreen Plus service to reduce CO2 emissions for road transport.
