German e-commerce company to construct 120,000 sq m warehouse

Panattoni Europe, a logistics real estate developer, has been awarded a contract by Jago AG, an e-commerce company, to develop a 120,000 sq m logistics facility in the Industriepark Rurtal commercial zone near Hückelhoven, Germany.

Construction is due to take place in four stages. During the first stage 40,000 sq m of warehousing and logistics space and 1,450 sq m for office and social areas will be developed. This stage is scheduled for handover to Jago in March 2016. The other building stages are to follow consecutively, with the entire project due for completion in August 2017.

Goran Jakovac, CEO and founder of Jago commented, “The construction of larger, modern logistics facilities is necessary for our expansion course. With Panattoni Europe, we have found the ideal partner for implementation of this project. In future, our customers will benefit from even faster delivery times.”

The company expects the new development to reduce transport costs due to its proximity to the container port in Born, the Netherlands, with connections to the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp.
