Norwegian Cargo signs new airmail agreement with Royal Mail

Norwegian Cargo has announced the signing of a new two-year airmail agreement with Royal Mail’s Gatwick Air Mail Unit (GAMU) with the aim of supporting international airmail shipments between the UK, Scandinavia and the U.S.

Bjørn Erik Barman-Jenssen and Head of Cargo at Norwegian said, “Norwegianʼs huge expansion in the UK is not just about passenger growth but cargo as well. This is a great time to strengthen our relationship with Royal Mail. Royal Mail has already trusted us to ship around 200 tonnes of mail to the U.S. and Scandinavia so far this year and our UK services will expand with new routes and more capacity to the worldʼs leading cargo hubs. We look forward to supporting Royal Mailʼs International services as Norwegian Cargo works toward becoming the go-to carrier for transatlantic shipments.”

Gary Taylor, International Service Manager, Western Europe, Scandinavia, Poland & Russia at Royal Mail said, “The increase of online purchases in the Nordics from UK retailers and SMEs makes Norwegian Cargoʼs enhanced network and widebody capacity an attractive proposition. Norwegian has been fulfilling our requirements of speed, efficiency and reliability for mail shipments since we began working together in 2013.”

Norwegian Cargo offers freight capacity to destinations in Scandinavia, a range of European destinations as well as Bangkok and destination in the US including New York, Orlando, Oakland, Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale.
