Biographies

Joel Ray BA MCILT / Head of Consultancy
A career dedicated to strategic consultancy and corporate development in the logistics industry, with a particular expertise in distribution property, express logistics and assisting companies in developing their logistics strategies. After graduating with a degree in Business Administration Joel joined a specialist logistics consultancy firm where he spent a number of years developing its Mergers and Acquisition business, as well as leading a number of strategic consultancy projects. He relocated to Ireland in 1998 to take up the position of Strategy Manager with An Post (the Irish Post Office) where he was responsible for analysing organic and acquisition growth opportunities, advising the board on the strategic direction of the company. He joined Transport Intelligence in 2002 to head up its bespoke research and consultancy division after establishing and running an internet based warehousing exchange. As part of his role at Ti Joel has travelled extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, India and Asia working on a variety of client lead projects. Joel is also an experienced conference moderator and speaker, having participated in many global logistics events.

Violeta Keckarovska / Research Analyst

Violeta is a research analyst with vast experience in the design, implementation and analysis of electronic and person-to-person surveys. Having worked across a number of sectors, including retail, luxury goods and FMCG, Violeta is experienced in gaining valuable insights across brand perception, voice of customer and strategic re-positioning intelligence campaigns for B-to-B and B-to-C clients.

As a member of the Market Research Society, Violeta brings best practice in research, insight and analytics across Ti.

Ken Lyon / Ti Advisory Board Member
Ken Lyon is Managing Director of Virtual Partners Ltd and has over 30 years of experience in the transportation industry. Ken specialises in the use of advanced information systems to manage the operations of 3PL (Third Party Logistics), 4PL and Lead Logistics Providers and their trading partner networks. Over the past few years he has helped start-ups concerned with supply chain technologies and before that, he spent 10 years as a Director and VP of information services at UPS, helping to establish its Logistics and supply chain services Group. Ken was recently appointed Chairman of the Board for an international logistics software group and also sits on the board of Ti. During the past 25 years, he has participated in conferences and conventions for the US Department of Defense, Government of Singapore, The JOC, Nikkei and many others. Ken is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport and a member of the US OSD sponsored Highlands Forum.

Thomas Cullen / Senior Analyst
Thomas is a widely respected writer and has been analyzing the global logistics market for over 15 years. He has edited a number of international publications and written for most of the leading trade publications in Europe. He has written several in-depth reports on a variety of subjects including Automotive and Chemical logistics. Thomas has been vital in adding value to Ti's Logistics Briefing service for the last 10 years and works on many global consultancy projects.

Stephen Chipping MA / Senior Analyst
Stephen is a senior business professional with a deep knowledge of the supply chain and logistics industry from working for the top companies in the sector. He has a strong financial background and success in general management. He has held many senior board level roles and has a depth of expertise covering supply chain management, operational and general management, strategy (including M&A), finance, tax and treasury, human resources and change. He has a global spread of experience from living and working overseas. Stephen Chipping is a former Senior Vice President of CEVA, responsible for Strategy and has worked in M&A roles in both DHL and CEVA.
