Yodel launches driver tracking map

Yodel has partnered with specialist sortation company Hexapole to install a new Small Parcel Sorter at its Shaw Sortation Centre in Oldham.

Yodel launched a driver tracking map feature on its website as the latest in a line of features which enable shoppers to stay up to speed with the location of their parcels.

Through the Yodel Xpect service, the map allows shoppers to follow where the driver delivering their parcel, keeping shoppers informed on their delivery. The new service is live on Yodel.co.uk, and an app will launch on mid-2018.

As well as driver location, the map also provides data on the number of deliveries in line before a particular shopper’s delivery. The retailer’s logo and name also appear on the tracking page to continue the shopper’s brand journey and making it clear exactly which parcel they are tracking. Shoppers using the Xpect service also get a two-hour delivery window notification.

Yodel is also planning the launch of its ‘Inflight’ service, which will enable all customers to amend delivery preferences right up to the point of delivery. A huge range of inflight options to choose from – including change of address to change of delivery date – will mean shoppers will be able to receive their parcels where and when it suits them.
