Yang Ming establishes Thai subsidiary


Yang Ming has established a new subsidiary in Thailand – Yang Ming Line (Thailand) Co., Ltd. The new company will provide all services starting January 1, 2018. Mr. Derek Chen has been officially appointed as its President.

Commented on its decision to open a new subsidiary, Yang Ming stated that Thailand’s strengths included its strategic position in the middle of South-East Asia with strong links to neighbouring countries, and that its economy has been growing steadily over the years. Yang Ming has upgraded vessel size for South-East Asia services in order to optimize its service network. The inauguration of Yang Ming Line (Thailand) Co., Ltd. is intended to serve Yang Ming’s worldwide clients with a more comprehensive and intensive logistics network by integrating regional business. The company also commented that it will reinforce its operations of import/export/transhipment cargo in Thailand in line with its long-term strategy of port network establishment and synchronization of information platform.

Yang Ming offers a variety of weekly direct-calling options at major ports in Thailand. It also provides shuttle services between Laem Chabang and Bangkok, Singapore and Kaohsiung as transshipment hubs connecting to global service network.
