WW Solutions and Mitsubishi team up to deliver logistics joint venture

Wallenius Wilhelmsen has announced plans for the first full-scale wind powered RoRo ship, which it hopes to have in service within the next five years.

WW Solutions and Mitsubishi Corporation LT (MCLogi) have teamed up in a joint venture to provide a stronger inland distribution network and portfolio of logistics services across Southeast Asia for automotive manufacturers and OEMs in Thailand.

MCW Logistics Solutions, launching in April, intends to establish an efficient transportation and distribution network for finished vehicles, as well as operating motor pools and offering yard management in Thailand.

The intention is to expand MCW Logistics Solutions into Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar and Indonesia, where WW Solutions and MCLogi want to pool their technological expertise and organisational capability to deliver sustainable, outbound logistics solutions that are capable of weathering industry headwinds and reducing costs. The venture also aims to implement new technology and grow organisational capability using one fleet, one management system, and unified quality and performance standards.

Michael Hynekamp, chief operating officer at WW Solutions, says “I’m excited about this new partnership and what it represents in terms of potential and reach. It will create a strong foundation to cater for further growth in Southeast Asia, and we look forward to working with Mitsubishi Corporation to serve current and new customers even better in the years to come.”
