Wincanton extends AvantiGas relationship

Wincanton

Wincanton has won a new five-year contract with leading LPG supplier AvantiGas. The agreement will extend their relationship through to 2023 – a relationship which began 12 years ago. The contract is to transport LPG and aerosol propellants to large commercial customers and to supplement the AvantiGas fleet for domestic deliveries at times of peak demand.

It will see Wincanton employ more than fifty drivers, with built-in flexibility allowing AvantiGas to be change their resources, depending on seasonal requirements and changes in prevailing weather conditions. AvantiGas employ their own in-house driving team to manage regular and summer season domestic demand. The partnership with Wincanton allows the company to respond to expected and unforeseen demand spikes, reducing the possible impact on their customers.

Wincanton is committed to fitting the fleet with MiX telematics, a system which it is using across all new fleets. The package is an end-to-end solution designed to give fleet operators the tools they need to sustain a high-performing operation. The solution comprises an on-board computer, an online tracking and information portal as well as access to valuable fleet and driver reports and analytics.

Jonathan Shortis, Director of Energy at Wincanton, said, “The key to this contract is scalability. The ability to augment their core retained driving team with highly trained and safety-conscious support provides maximum flexibility for AvantiGas.”
