Waberer’s Group received its second pure electric truck from Volvo Hungária Kft. The new vehicle is a 4-battery, sleeper cab equipped Volvo FL with an electric powertrain and a payload capacity of 7.5 tonnes, capable of a range of 200-240 km on a single charge. The vehicle is powered by an electric motor with a continuous output of 174 hp (130 kW). The new vehicle is equipped with tail-lift which makes it easy to deliver goods to supermarket. It will carry out transport tasks in the Budapest area for the WSZL fleet without local emissions.

“This is a landmark day for us, as it is the first time we will be able to receive an electric vehicle that is entirely painted in Waberer’s colours and also features the Waberer’s Green Division logo on its body. Sustainability is a paramount element of our Group’s strategy and we see the expansion of our alternative powertrain fleet as a key objective. We made a significant step in this direction, as this new vehicle brings the number of electrically powered vehicles in our fleet to four,” says Krisztina Patai, Director of Waberer’s Green Division.

In June 2022, the company received DAF Hungary’s first electric truck, which can cover up to 500 km a day. In addition to the newly delivered FL, two more electric Volvo trucks will join the Waberer’s group. One will be a FL with a refrigerated body and the other will be a battery-electric Volvo FH semi-trailer tractor, which will continue the trend of electric trucks and the progress of logistics towards carbon neutrality in Hungary.
