UPS to invest $196m in Jacksonville hub

UPS will invest $196 million to develop its Jacksonville ground package hub, adding over 260,000 sq ft to the building in conjunction with advanced technology and operations automation.

The facility will also have a larger trailer staging area, as 46 further package car positions will meet the needs for growing local delivery operations.

“Jacksonville is one of the larger U.S. ground processing facilities and an important transit point to connect road and rail in the UPS network,” commented Kim Wyant, President of UPS’s Florida District.

When completed in H2 2019, capacity will increase by one-third to more than 80,000 packages processed per hour.
