UPS announced that it will expand UPS Worldwide Express Freight and UPS Worldwide Express Freight Midday in Russia. According to the company, customers in nearly 2,300 postcodes in the Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Nizhniy Novogorod metropolitan areas will benefit from enhanced access to UPS’s global logistics network for urgent heavy shipments.
UPS Worldwide Express Freight offers international delivery of palletised shipments weighing more than 70kgs within one to three business days to approximately 50 countries. UPS Worldwide Express Freight Midday offers delivery by 12pm or 2pm to selected areas in more than 30 countries. Collection, delivery and routine customs clearance are included.
Pavel Adamovsky, country manager, UPS Russia and Belarus, said: “Our customers come in all shapes and sizes, and so do their shipments. Businesses that export tend to be more profitable, and this enhancement will offer companies more options to reach their customers wherever they are.”
The recent enhancements to UPS’s service are part of the company’s $2bn investment in its European network and infrastructure through 2019. Recent investments included three super hubs in London, Paris, and Eindhoven, in the Netherlands, as well as a new operational facility at Vnukovo Airport that opened in 2015. UPS also enhanced service across Russia, including expansion of deliveries to all postal codes in the Russian Federation, enhanced express services in major metropolitan areas, and reduced time in transit for shipments in Siberia.
