The Rhenus Group acquired the silo transport company, Nederlandse Transport Maatschappij B.V. (NTM), at the turn of the year. Due to the firm takeover, which has its headquarters in Hardenberg in the Netherlands, the international logistics specialist is expanding its expertise in silo transport operations for free-flowing and powdery goods.

NTM has several business sites on the German/Dutch border and offers crossborder services within Europe. The transport service company was founded in the 1970s and became part of the German Sievert Logistics Group in 2010. The spectrum of goods that it transports ranges from building materials to sensitive GMP and chemical products, minerals and plastic granules. The logistics specialist’s operations are complemented by additional value-added services such as warehousing, picking, quality checks, refilling and filling big bags as well as packaging solutions.

”We’re delighted to expand our expertise and our services in the silo business through taking over NTM, particularly for our customers in the building industry and providers of GMP and petrochemical products, industrial minerals and wood pellets,” says Heiner Höfkes, the Business Unit Manager at Rhenus Port Road.

NTM will continue to exist as its own company within the Rhenus Group under Managing Director Henk Batterink. “This new working relationship is a win-win situation for us: thanks to Rhenus’ extensive network, our sphere of activities will increase in Europe and we’ll also be able to scale our business by making use of the many years of experience gained by our current workforce,” Henk Batterink adds.
