SEUR increases turnover by 19% to €833m in 2020

SEUR closed 2020 with a turnover of €833m, registering a growth of 19% compared to the previous year, primarily due to strong e-commerce growth and an increase in online groceries through services such as cold SEUR. Throughout the year, the number of shipments increased by 38% to 101m.

In 2020, e-commerce accounted for €376m, up 50% year-on-year. Meanwhile, international sales which represent 30% of revenues, reached €250m.

“The pandemic has had a great impact on our sector motivated by changes in consumer buying habits, especially in the field of electronic commerce, which have caused unprecedented increases in volumes since the beginning of the health crisis. Thanks to the efforts of our professionals, who have been at the forefront, we have been able to adapt in record time to these production levels from a technological, operational point of view, with the opening of 21 new facilities, and security, implementing the Zero Contact deliveries,” said Alberto Navarro, CEO of SEUR.

To cope with high demand, the company reinforced its workforce with 4,100 new professionals during 2020 throughout Spain, 2,000 to cope with the first months after the declaration of the State of Alarm and another 2,100 who joined for the Christmas Campaign.
