SEGRO to extend facility in Malsfeld for GEODIS

SEGRO has acquired a 2.56 hectare property near Kassel, Germany, adjacent to its SEGRO Logistics Centre Malsfeld. The new facility on Dr. Reimer Straße 3 will have 14,200 sq m of logistics space for GEODIS and is set to be completed later in 2020. GEODIS is supplementing its existing rental space at SEGRO, which was previously 20,000 sq m, with the expansion, GEODIS intends to further expand its 3PL business at the location. After the completion of the new space, SEGRO in Malsfeld will have 46,000 sq m of space. The SEGRO Logistics Centre Malsfeld is located on the A7, the A5 and the A49 as well as federal road 83 are also easy to reach.

Jens Happe, Managing Director for the Contract Logistics Division of GEODIS in Germany, said, “The expansion is part of a long-term growth strategy of GEODIS in order to further expand the contract logistics business in Germany and thus strengthen our competitive position in the region. Integrated into the global GEODIS network, we offer our regional and international customers at the Malsfeld logistics location a wide range of services. This ranges from warehouse and distribution management to the delivery of industrial production lines.”
