The Rhenus Group has announced plans to expand its network with the acquisition of Swiss project logistics specialist KOG Worldwide AG. KOG Worldwide specialises in plant equipment logistics and is expected to operate under Rhenus’ Project Logistics division.
Business activities are due to be merged with the KOG brand continue to be used. Headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, KOG operates 21 companies in 18 different countries worldwide managing international logistics projects for customers, specialising in plant construction. KOG Worldwide largely focuses on project logistics and transporting abroad, mainly to the USA, Europe and Asia.
Additionally, KOG’s routes from Europe into markets in the USA and Asia, along with an increased capacity through multiple new sites across the world, are expected to help strengthen Rhenus UK’s growing network.
David Williams, managing director of Rhenus Logistics UK, said, “I’m very pleased to announce our latest merger. KOG is a strong name in the European logistics industry and has multiple sites located in key areas for manufacturing and construction. Rhenus UK customers who specialise in plant construction will benefit from KOG’s expert technical knowledge and country specific information which will allow for the speedy and smooth completion of projects.”
Rhenus UK has also announced the company is working on a number of new projects including launching multiple new shipping, air freight and road routes across Europe and rolling out new services to customers as well as growing its team of 250 people.
