Rhenus Poland and ERKA announce groupage road freight partnership

Even though some of the regulations have now been adopted, controversy and opposition remain around the Mobility Package, such as insufficient infrastructure and environmental concerns.

Rhenus has announced that Rhenus Poland and ERKA Internationale Spedition GmbH (ERKA) have been working together to handle daily international groupage road transport services between southern Germany and Poland since March 1, 2018.

Transit times vary between 48 and 72 hours, depending on the origin and destination of goods. Before being transported, goods are combined at the Rhenus warehouse site in Wrocław and ERKA’s site in Stuttgart. Rhenus Poland and ERKA also organise final mile deliveries.

The goods being transported involve non-perishable items like furniture, industrial goods and chemicals.

ERKA, headquartered in Stuttgart-Weilimdorf, is one of the main providers of road transport services in southern Germany. Founded in 1977, it is a family-owned company with 170 employees.

“This cooperation allows us to provide current and future customers of both companies with daily groupage freight connections in both directions,” says Artur Tomaszewski, International Groupage Director at Rhenus Logistics Poland.

Rhenus Poland is the third national company within the Rhenus Group to cooperate with ERKA, following partnerships in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
